Knights defeat Mesa, claim conference

Coach Charlens leads his team to olayoffs with 90-60 victory over the Olympians

City's men's basketball team took possession of the Pacific Coast Conference title Wednesday evening 18 February, with a resounding victory over Mesa College. The Knights played a superior game in front of large audience at the Harry West Gym to finish their regular season, beating the Mesa College Olympians 90-60.

Men's Knights Volleyball vs. San Diego Mesa Wednesday evening the 11th of March, the men's volleyball team hosted San Diego Mesa College in the Pacific Coast Conference championships in a fast paced hard fought match. Coach Curtis Jackson's Knights came out playing hard, and with a combination of brilliant blocks and spikes we were narrowly beaten in their first game by a score of 26-30.

San Diego City College men's head coach Mitch Charlens was named coach of the year in the Pacific Coast Conference. This is an award bestowed upon the coach for his efforts in the Pacific Coast play offs. All the coaches in the league in which we play, both the PCC and in the overall competition do the voting.

Wily City Knights softball team outplays 5th ranked Rio Hondo

City Knights played 5th ranked Rio Hondo at home the afternoon of Feb. 18. and won. Starting pitcher Erika Beasley, who although stricken with the flu pitched superbly, kept her team in contention the entire game.

Sophomores Gina Knox, Callie Fernandez and Sarah Fernandez are recognized for their contribution to the women's basketball team. The lady knights would trail until the last two minutes, in a nail biter of a finish and go on to win their final home game of the season on a high note by 52-48 against Rio Hondo.

Deo Brown smashes his way to victory

Freshman Deo Brown returns with a powerful backhand in his 6-1, 6-4 victory over his opponent in City college's game against Mesa College at home on Feb. 19.
